Oracle Cloud adoption rising quickly, says ZDNet

ZDNet’s review of top cloud providers in 2018 shows Oracle’s cloud adoption rates rising rapidly. In a new article ZDNet compared annual run rates between the big players, AWS, Microsoft, Google, IBM, Oracle and Alibaba. The article shows Microsoft and AWS to be leading the way with revenue run rates of $21.2bn and $20.4bn respectively, but Oracle in fourth place with $6.08bn has strong growth signs. Based on RightScale’s “State of the Cloud” report, Enterprise Public Cloud Adoption rose from 5% in 2017 to 10% in 2018 for Oracle Cloud amongst respondents. In addition to that 10% figure, 12% are experimenting with Oracle Cloud and a further 11% plan to use it.

Said ZDNet, Oracle “has hit scale and is betting that autonomous features and data-as-a-service are differentiators.
