Oracle says Pentagon outsourcing plan makes “no sense”

Oracle CEO Safra Catz says the Pentagon plan to find a single cloud-computing provider for the US Defense Department’s requirements.

“It just made no sense”, said Catz. “I never heard of something like a single cloud and I would challenge anyone to point at a significant commercial customer who has one cloud”. Catz also suggested the procurement process favours Amazon’s AWS, and said “I have no idea why anyone would think that is a good idea”.
