Oracle extends JDK 8 public updates

Oracle has extended public updates for Java Development Kit 8 until at least January 2019. This means there will be additional quarterly patch updates in October 2018 and January 2019 for JDK 8.

Oracle also stated that applets will be supported in Java SE 8 until at least March 2019, and commercial support of Java SE 8 will be available until at least March 2025.
